england
I arrived in Liverpool yesterday, after a three day (and very chaotic!) sail from Plymouth. We are docked at Albert Dock, right in the city centre. It’s bizzare to be living on a yacht five metres from a really busy main road. Liverpool seems cool from what we explored today. Next weekend we’re bussing it to London for a big ywam gathering with all the other England dts’s - woo!

travels
I’m backpacking around Italy for a bit before I head out to the mission field. In Rome at the mo, it’s pretty flipping cool! There are ruins everywhere you look. Gelato - you must go to Rome if only to try the gelato. ;) Was having doubts about the travelling solo thing but i’m loving it! Have been in the country for two days and have already met so many awesome people! Might...

I think Boy & Bear’s new album is fantastic. One of the songs is called part time believer and it has a really great chorus… check it.
My friend Gem needed some photos taken for her acting portfolio so we ventured to the good ol’ powerhouse this arvo for the golden hour. The light was just lovely.
Was fun being a little bit creative again - a welcome change from the generic...

food not bombs
Tonight I ate dinner in a park with some homeless people that was cooked from food out of dumpsters. It was delicious! Met some interesting people too. This is the initiative of an organisation called ‘food not bombs’.
This is what they’re about:
Food Not Bombs shares free vegetarian meals with the hungry in over 1000 cities around the world to protest war, poverty and the...

Hey matt. lovely to meet you. you-in-a-nutshell is interesting. I’m second eldest out of four kids, by 28 minutes. I’m also working doing something I love. What do you do for work? Jesus is my best friend, although I definitely don’t put enough into the relationship alot of the time. What do you play, music-wise? I play a little bit, at the moment trying to teach myself a bit...

inspiration
Just watched a documentary titled “born into brothels”. It’s about an american women who went to the red light district in Calcutta, India, initially to photograph/ document what daily life was for the prostitutes. She then met the children who were born into the brothels and through teaching them photography, gave them hope. Definitely keen to do something similar to this.
ready for an adventure
Yesterday I booked a flight to Rome. This excites me incredibly.

grateful
In July this year I decided to start a book. It is a book of photographs. I have been taking a photo every day for something i’m grateful for/love/makes me happy/a memory and I can’t wait to look back on it when i’m 80 and see what the 17 year old me was grateful for. I’ve found on looking back at the photos that it’s mostly the simple things in life that I am most...

greater.
And if Our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what can stand against?
I went to church for the first time in a while tonight. Singing these lyrics, I felt God speak to me, reminding me of how massive and in control He is over everything and even though the enemy tries so hard to hinder our relationship with Him, God is always greater. With Him on our side,...

after tomorrow I have one more exam, then holidays. exam = unseen essay on the ‘political/legal interface’, so that should be an absolute blast. I have realised that I really don’t have much interest at all in politics. it will be good to be over.
